We have arranged the following information based on the frequently asked questions Vives Cars receive from the clients in order to assist you.

How can I reserve a car?
You can reserve your car using the website searcher, the website booking form or contacting us to reservations@vivescars.com.

 

Can I have prices before reserving the car?
Yes, use our searcher, fill in the dates and car category you wish to reserve. You will receive availability and prices without commitment. Should you prefer to contact us directly we are available on the contact details specified above.

 

Can I extend my contract?
Yes. You can extend your original contract, you must contact us from Monday to Saturday to reservations@vivescars.com. Contract extension must be informed within 24h prior the date of collection / delivery.

 

Can I add an extra in my reservation?
It is possible to reserve any extra like a car seat at the time you make the booking, or contacting us if the reservation is already made.

 

When do I pay for my car?
The payment should be made 48h prior the collection of your car.

 

Which payment method can I use to pay my rental car?
You should pay by credit card (no charge).

 

Can I change or cancel my reservation?
Yes, you can change or cancel your reservation.

Cancellations until 48hours prior the arrival date, 30€ cancellation fee. Less than 48h prior the arrival date, the amount paid for the car rental will not be refunded (no cancellation fee).

 

Can I choose between different car models?
Cars are reserved by category, if the model of the category chosen is not available you shall receive a similar model in same category or superior one.

 

How can I rent a luxury car?
To rent a luxury car the driver must be at least 25 years old and have held a valid driving license for at least one year and a half.

 

What is the age required to drive the car?

The driver must be between 21 and 75 years old and have held a valid driving license for at least one year.
Drivers under the age of 21, over the age of 75 or with less than one year of valid driving license are requested to pay the young, mature and novice driver insurance (under request) in order to drive the car.

 

Who is allowed to drive the car?
The only persons authorised to drive the car are those who are named in the contract. Drivers are noted in the contract with passport and license number. Contract must be kept in the vehicle at all times.

 

Do I need to install accessories such as car seats?
Yes, you must install accessories as it is required by our insurance company. We cannot be responsible of any problem from incorrect accessories installations.

 

What type of insurance is included in the rental price?
Fully comprehensive insurance (full risk) is included in the rental price, no excess.

 

What is not included in the insurance?

- Lost or stolen key/s.

- Wrong use of the clutch.

- Damage caused by reckless driving.

- Damage caused under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

- Failure to comply with contract conditions (e.g. not stated in the accident report that is supplied with our rental agreement).

- Refuelling with wrong fuel.

- Damage caused to the wheel trims or tyres.

- Damage to upholstery and locks.

- Damage or loss of baby seats/ booster seats.

- Damage or loss or aerial, jack, windscreen wipers or petrol cap.

- Damage to the motor due to negligence.

- Damage to the underneath of the vehicle and running boards.

- Theft of the vehicle with the keys in the ignition.

- Breakage of windows and wing mirrors.

- Traffic and/or parking fines.

 

Can I reserve an extra coverage insurance for damage of tyres, rims, windscreens and wing mirrors?
Yes, at time of booking you can reserve an extra coverage insurance at an additional cost.

For your peace of mind, Vives Cars suggests you to add the extra insurance into your booking.

Categories B, B1, C, C1, G: 5€ per day.

Categories D, E, F: 6€ per day.

*If you have not added the extra insurance into your booking, in case of damage of tyres, rims, windscreens and wing mirrors, the repair costs will be charged from your credit card without previous notification.

 

What I need to do if I have in case of accident and/or breakdown with my rental car?
You must contact us on our 24h mobile phone, 0034 673 277 066.

 

Can I travel outside Mallorca with my rental car?
No, it is not allowed to travel outside Mallorca with your rental car.

 

Where can I pick up and/or return the car?
You can pick up and/or return the car from/at Palma Airport, Pollença and Alcudia area free of charge.

 

Where can I pick up and/or return the car at the airport?
If you collect and/or return the car at the airport you must go to the 2nd floor of the car parking, Zone H/H.

 

Which documents do I need to pick up the car?
To collect your car you do need your valid identity card or passport and your valid driving license.

 

Which is the procedure if my flight is changed or delayed?
Any preknown flight change must be informed to Vives Cars. If we do not receive this information we cannot guarantee to supply the car at the correct time.

Flight delays: please do not worry if we have the correct flight number we are able to check it on your collection date.

Please note, should the car is returned after the stipulated delivery time specified in the contract, there will be an additional fee of 11€ per hour or fraction of hour. There is a courtesy of one hour free of charge.

 

What is your fuel policy?
The car is supplied with ¼ tank of fuel and must be returned with similar amount of fuel as collected. If you have any doubts regarding the correct fuel required for your vehicle, it is suggested you enquire at the Petrol Station who will assist you.
